Today, one of the greatest keys to success you can give
your child is knowledge of a new language.
Berlitz Kids™ makes learning
a language fun.
With Berlitz Kids™, through
live instruction, children up to 11 years old can learn
to speak English or other languages the same way they learned their first
language – by laughing, playing and eventually conversing.
Songs, crafts, games and illustrations are used to build
a child’s confidence and increase cultural awareness.
Whatever your child's age...
Whatever your child's language of interest...
Berlitz Kids has the right program for you.
And for younger children... from the creators of Sesame Street® –
Berlitz’s newest instructor
Berlitz Kids has joined forces with one of the most respected
names in children’s entertainment
and education, Sesame Workshop™ – the people who have delighted
you with Sesame Street and its cast of lovable characters for over 30 years. Sesame
English™ is
a multimedia initiative to introduce children to the English
language through a new Muppet character, created by the
Jim Henson Company, named Tingo.
Sesame
Workshop™ developed the concept for Sesame English™,
an engaging television program that introduces children
to the English language. Berlitz, in turn, has
created a curriculum based upon the show that enables
children around the world to learn to speak English through
live instruction.
All Berlitz Kids™ classes, including Sesame English™, are conducted in small groups or one-on-one with
native-fluent instructors specifically chosen for their
ability to teach young children. We’re convenient, too.
Depending upon the country, we offer lessons at Berlitz
Language Centers, after-school programs, local community
centers or day care centers. We’ll even come to your home.
Check your local Berlitz Language Center for more details

The
Sesame English Curriculum with the Berlitz Touch
Sesame
English courses are indicative of the traditional
Berlitz Method®, which emphasizes strongly interactive,
small group and/or one-on-one learning with lots of attention
from the teacher. The curriculum is supported by instructional
materials that include student activity books, flashcards,
games, crafts activities, chants and traditional English
songs. The use of the Muppets provides a comfortable framework
for the youngsters and for the highly trained Berlitz teachers
who use all of the materials and a hand puppet of Tingo
in the program. The hand puppet gives the teacher a second
"voice" to interact in English and the local language,
helping youngsters master English in an engaging and effective
way.
The
Sesame English program consists of two courses - four
levels per course: The Elmo course for ages four and five,
and the Tingo course typically for ages six and seven. Each
course is comprised of 120 lessons (30 per level) that feature
familiar Sesame Street® Muppets including Big Bird,
Elmo, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, Grover, Oscar the
Grouch and new Muppet, Tingo. Each student enrolled in these
courses receives a welcome kit with instructional material
such as a full color picture book and a Sesame English Passport.
The Passport allows teachers to record their students' progress
and parents to see their kids' improvement. Students also
receive a Tingo or Elmo certificate upon successful completion
of each level.
